Dan LeFevour's name and image has been linked to success in the state of Michigan. Now, LeFevour is branching out on the national level, thanks to his recent appearance on the cover of USA Today's College Football 2009 Preview, which hit newsstands on Monday."I think this is a great thing for Central Michigan and our program," LeFevour said. "It is a great honor to be a part of that."LeFevour headlines a group of six senior quarterbacks that the publication features inside the magazine. Both LeFevour and head coach Butch Jones were interviewed for a feature story that appears on Page eight.USA Today sent a photographer to CMU's campus to conduct a photo shoot with LeFevour in May.

Along with the cover shot, a one-quarter page photo accompanies the feature story.LeFevour joins senior quarterbacks Max Hall (BYU), Tim Tebow (Florida), Todd Reesing (Kansas), Daryll Clark (Penn State) and Colt McCoy (Texas) for the feature. The preview magazine also includes predictions for each conference and previews of each team in the country."I knew I was going to be part of the regional cover but I thought it was going to be with the other quarterbacks," LeFevour said. This marks the second time LeFevour has been featured in USA Today. The national newspaper profiled him last August along with the CMU billboard at Comerica Park in Detroit.Another recent accolade LeFevour received in the national light was in Phil Steele's College Football Preview 2009.

"I think coming off three pretty good seasons that I knew there was going to be some preseason attention," LeFevour said. "For me, I am just looking at this season like I do every season, I just have to do my job to help our team win a championship. I don't worry about where I rank in the nation, I worry about being able to beat Western Michigan and Ball State and play for a MAC title at the end of the year."LeFevour enters his senior season holding nearly every passing statistic in the CMU record book.

With the clock ticking down on his college career, LeFevour is taking each day in stride."I know there is no 'next year' now and I know that I have a little over 10 games left in my career," LeFevour said. "Things have went by quickly but I have enjoyed every minute of my time at CMU and I look forward to another great year."CMU opens the 2009 season on Sept. 5 at
